Blessed in the most unexpected way... my experience with an autistic student.

I'm pretty sure that sometimes you have thought of the blessings you have had or have in your life. Perhaps you think that you haven't been blessed as much as you should be or you compare your blessings to others’ Then life makes sure to take you through unexpected paths. Paths that make you think...

I have lived a blessed life. I had a great childhood and teen's years. I have two sons that are good-hearted men. I come from a family where we share love and care for each other. I have amazing friends who have been there for me always. I'm in good health, both physically and mentally. So, as you can see, I’m blessed.

Recently life decided to bless me in a different way. I started tutoring a kid with advanced autism. I've never worked with a student with autism before and when I was asked to do it, I won't lie; I was very nervous and stressful. But, I did it. I’ve been working with him for three weeks now and it has been a ride that I’ve been enjoying a lot.

He and I made a connection. I was afraid that didn’t happen but, it did and easily. He's happy to see me. I know it not only because he looked happy but because he said it with words. He works hard on his assignments and completes every task. He has shared with me his most beautiful smiles... and what an awesome feeling it is to see him smiling.
 Every Tuesday and Thursday this kid waits for me to be there and tutor him. Every Tuesday and Thursday I can't wait to be there for him.

His presence in my life has shown me another view of life, his view. A unique view where life is not that complicated and where you can be happy with the smallest things, with the smallest gesture of love.
Knowing and tutoring this kid... that is a true blessing!

Love is what it is

Have you ever fell in love? I'm sure you have.

How did it make you feel? Isn't love the most amazing thing? For me, it is for sure!

Thinking about falling in love makes me think about those who fall in love but either not want to or think is not the right time for it and, then, they prefer to pull away. Why prohibited yourself from such a wonderful feeling and experience of sharing your life with someone you love?

Why end it?

 A good love can make you be a better person, can make you see things with a different perspective, makes you see life more beautiful, give you strength when you think you don’t have it anymore, it’s fun and adventurous.

I truly don't understand why they pull away, but I guess they have their reason.

You can’t plan love, it just happens and when it does you should grab it. It’s this amazing ride that two ride together, going up and down but always caring and respecting each other. 

Love sometimes gives you another chance and you shouldn't waste it.

I’m not getting any younger and when love knocks on my door I will give everything I’ve got to it. Who knows if this will be the last time in my life that I’ll feel this way for someone. I'll embrace love for sure!!

I don’t want to end this post without sharing with you this quote that I read in Spanish the other day -“Dicen por ahí... Que de tanto darle tiempo al tiempo, se nos va la vida." 

It means, "Some people say...That from giving so much time to time, our life slip away." 

True, right? 

At this point in life, I may not know where, but I'll know with whom.

I miss you and I haven't even met you

I miss you and I haven't even met you. Those exact words he told me and I think they are the most romantic words I have ever heard.
Met him through online dating few months ago. He appeared in my search and I immediately felt attracted to him. Don't know why, but it was more than an attraction, it was like I knew him already in a very personal way. I loved his profile pic, look very handsome.

I contacted him and he replied. We messaged back and forth a lot. We started getting to know each other. It was amazing. We had so much in common!

We connected from the beginning. He made me laughed a lot. I love it. I made him laugh too. I really liked when I did it. We talked about each other's life: likes, dislikes, what we like to do for fun, etc.  I love that he was interested in me being a writer. He even asked about my published books. That was awesome. Being a writer and author is one of the parts of me that I treasure a lot and to someone be genuinely interested in it, makes that person special.

Then one day, we kinda lost contact. He wanted to be that way. He later told me he was starting to have feelings towards me so he decided to stop talking to me. Some weeks ago, we reconnected again. I was glad because I had missed him. He told me he couldn't stop thinking about me. I'm sure you know how I felt, right. We started messaging each other again, felt the connection again but...

Online dating can be amazing because it opens you to a whole new opportunity to meet people that maybe you won't meet in the conventional way. But online dating can be also a little a rough play too. And in this case, it was a little rough for me. He lives in California and I live in Florida.

Yeah, tough luck, right.

You will say, easy take a plane and go to meet each other. Turns out he can't and I'm a little short of money so. I feel that he doesn't want to meet more than he can't. I think he's afraid that we really click in person and then what will happen. You know, being each other so far. Every time we talked about how we wish we could meet and he says he can't, that's he's sorry, I feel sad. I don't know why. I just do.  For my part, I wish I could meet him and look into his eyes (Would love to do it!). Maybe you think I'm crazy and perhaps I am but I think that if I look into his eyes I will find the one.

I have to give up of what I feel. He's still on the site, looking for someone to be near him, of course. He met a lady on it and told me the other day he was going to meet her in person. It hit me. Ha-ha,yes, it did. You know that thing you feel on your inside...

Well, I can't do anything, I'm far away.
Still, I wish him luck and that he finds the one who will make him happy.

I'm the person who believes that things happens for a reason. He appeared in my search, we clicked, kind of grew something between us even with us being apart. I really wish if it can't happen now or in this life, we connect in another life because I know for sure we will be the best lovers of all times.
